Our Story
Our story begins in 1994 when Chef Tou bought No 1 Cafe, which at that time was a greasy spoon cafe.
She gradually taught herself how to cook Thai food dish by dish, while at the same time still cooking sausage and eggs in the cafe. Eventually she felt confident enough to offer a weekly Thai special along side the usual cafe food. It didn’t take long for the Thai dishes to become the best sellers, and so Chef Tou decided to go all in and completely change the menu with the cafe becoming a Thai and Malaysian restaurant.
Fast forward to 2025 and we’re still going strong. We’ve had royalty, prime ministers, film stars, directors and people from all walks of life enjoy our food and we’ve enjoyed seeing our customers’ children grow and then have little families of their own. We’ve now got a Youtube channel that we have a lot of fun with, bringing Thai cuisine to more people.
